Thou O Lord Art A Shield

Our little miss turned three yesterday with very little fan fare due to the fact that she and I were both getting over being sick. First thing in the morning Scott picked up the Bible he had given me for mother's day and read the Psalm correlating to her birth year Psalm 3. As he read "O Lord, how many are my foes!" I could see Sophia's face sort of wrinkle up a bit wondering what Daddy was reading. He added "the foes are all the germs in your body" some how that made more sense to her...I rolled my eyes. But I was greatly comforted when he read "But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head." YES I thought, a wonderful promise and a good reminder to me of the Lord's faithful protection.

I must add that this morning she was presented with her very own kitchen. Scott had been working on it for a while now and finally finished it today. I'm so proud of his workmanship and wishfully awaiting the day when I too will have such an awesome kitchen!
